We Are Love

Track 8 | Mother Medicine (4:44)

Mother Medicine - Sara Emmitt Album Cover

I once fell into deep inquiry with the Universe about where we, as humans, come from. I quickly received this song as the answer. I consider this song somewhat of a lyrical creation story.

We Are Love Lyrics

written by Sara Emmitt

When the star fell they landed in the sea

and the water swelled with such a light

and the waves pulsed their bodies onto shore

and the sun filled their eyes with gold

so they could see their new home

And how the land did expand

her skin stretched into deserts of sand

Valleys carved out her veins

mountains wrinkled on her face

and she prepared for this new birth of life

the star people rise

press thier prints into her skin and they sing

mmm they sing

We are love (x4)

So began this revolution

of the star’s evolution

and the union of father sky and mother earth

They had birthed this new being

given such small eyes for seeing

the infinite that is the universe

Then great time brought great spaces

to the mind they had created

and they lost their way back to their hearts

the place of the stars

How can they feel home

when the place they’ve always known

feels lightyears away

They think they lost their way

then they remember one sweet day

so sing that song

that lives in their hearts

the song of the stars

We are love (x4)

Then one at a time

they made their way back to

that place in their hearts

back to their hearts

And together they sing

We are love (x8)
