Honey In The Heart
Track 3 | Mother Medicine (3:52)
This song is about many things, but I started writing it when I was studying an Ayurvedic concept called Ojas; a sweet, thick nectar that lives within our being and is responsible for our body’s luster, joy and immunity. I likened it to honey, and my reverence for both Ojas and honey grew as I studied both adjacently. Of course, I couldn’t have an ode to honey without mention of our dear bees, so the song unfolded in several chapters. I consider it one of my best love songs.
Honey in the Heart Lyrics
written by Sara Emmitt
There is honey in the heart
and wings on the mind
but if you fly away
don’t leave your love behind
For if it’s sweetness you seek
then so you shall find
eight drops in the heart
bring you back to the divine
Sticky fingers on the cabinets
and all over the walls
for the nectar of this life is
messy and overflows
So catch it on your tongue
and hold it in your mouth
Let it saturate your bones
sweeten you from inside out
Oh honey I adore you
like the waves do love the shore
you are the keeper of the force
you are the echo of the source
and your healing brings us wellness
as your sweetness is contagious
In the light of all you offer
may you stay blessed by nature’s altar (2x)
Oh my queen bee
I bow to thee
creatress weave sweet majesty
in your kingdom home
of honeycomb
on your golden throne
medicine crone
with your workers and drones
you are fair
pheromones let your wishes be known
you are life’s backbone, ooo
you are life’s back bone, ooooo
Oh honey I adore you
like the waves do love the shore
you are the keeper of the force
you are the echo of the source
and your healing brings us wellness
as your sweetness is contagious
In the light of all you offer
may you stay blessed by nature’s altar
In the light of all you offer
may you stay blessed
may you stay blessed
